Concept:Search Engines Give Gift to the Web

Google, Yahoo!, and Microsoft have joined forces to create Sitemaps 0.90, a free way to notify search engines of new websites or updates to already existing sites.  In addition to submitting a website to the different search engines, sitemaps.org gives web developers yet another protocol to boost web identity and enhance the efficiency of search engine crawlers.

Any company who updates their site regularly will benefit significantly from these procedures. By submitting new sitemap revisions, the search engine spiders will reach users more rapidly, discover new content faster, and put a stop to redundant crawling and saving bandwidth for all.

Recipe:Batch of Computer Cookies

Computer cookies also known as HTTP cookies or web cookies, "are parcels of text sent by a server to a web browser and then sent back unchanged by the browser each time it accesses that server. Cookies are used for authenticating, tracking, and maintaining specific information about users, such as site preferences and the contents of their electronic shopping carts." (Wikipedia Encyclopedia)

With an expected $32 billion in online sales this holiday season (according to Jupiter Research) consumers should be informed on how to delete their holiday cookies. Follow our simple Windows XP tools on deleting your cookies and keep yourself carefree while online shopping this holiday season:

  1. Find your Control Panel. Generally, it is placed within your start menu.
  2. In your Control Panel, double click your Internet Options.
    1. In current Windows software, clicking on Network and Internet Connections will bring you to Internet Options
  3. Under the General tab, click Delete Cookies under Temporary Internet Files, and then click OK.
    1. If you are like most people and fear deleting anything on your computer (though cookies are as simple to delete as it is to eat the real thing), next to the Delete Cookies button you will find Settings.
    2. Under the Settings option, View Files.
    3. This brings up your Temporary Internet Files. These are your cookies.
    4. If you have never deleted a cookie before, it may take sometime to delete. It may be best in your case to select a chunk at a time.
